On the first race of the DTM season in Hockenheim Mercedes won the clash of the three premium german automakers.
After free practice and qualifying, it seemed that Audi’s were the main favorite for the win, as it turns out the Mercedes old boys got the best of win – with Garry Paffett taking the victory in front of Jamie Green (both HWA Mercedes) and Matthias Ekstrom coming in third with ABT Audi. BMWs best was Andy Priaulx’s 6th place.

On the street WTCC race in Marrakech held on April 15th 2012 Chevrolet drivers score double 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
In the overall standings Muller leads with 130 points, followed by Menu with 106 points and Huff in third place with 97 points.

Canadian Robert Wickens joined Muecke Motorsport racing team as a second driver, alongside legendary David Coulthard, for the 2012 DTM season.
During 2007 to 2011 Wickens competed in many single-seat categories including Formula 2, F3, A1 GP and Formula WSR 3.5.

David Coulthard, former Formula 1 veteran, will drive for the competitive Muecke Motorsport team in the 2012 DTM season.

21-year old Adrien, son of the late 80s Formula 1 star Patrick Tambay, is one of the eight Audi drivers in the DTM series. Younger Tambay drove F3 class in 2009, moved on to Auto GP in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
In 2010 he won the Spa-Francorchamps GP3 race with a daring no-stop strategy in a tough weather changing circumstances.
